Privacy notice
This notice explains how I, Priya, handle personal data when you visit sparknestpro.life ("Quiet Nest"). I operate this site as an individual personal blogger — not as a company, not as a registered business entity, and not on behalf of any organisation. There is no data broker behind these pages, no customer relationship management suite, and no advertising network collecting profiles on my behalf at the time of this build.

If you have questions about this notice or wish to exercise access or correction rights, email me with "Privacy" in the subject line. I respond during quiet hours — evenings after the river walk, Singapore time — and aim to reply within a reasonable period for a one-person operation.
What this site collects
Information you send me voluntarily. If you email me, I receive whatever you choose to include — your address, your message, attachments. I do not operate a contact form; you initiate contact through your own mail client. I use that information only to read and answer your message, or to correct factual errors you point out in my notes.
Technical data from hosting. My hosting provider may log standard server data when you request a page: IP address, browser user-agent, requested URL, timestamp, and HTTP status. I do not personally browse those logs daily; they exist for security and troubleshooting. Retention follows the host's policy, typically short rotation unless an incident requires longer storage.
Cookie and local storage data. This site stores a consent preference cookie named sg_blog_consent and mirrors the same JSON object in localStorage under cookie_consent_v1. That record contains category toggles and a timestamp — not your name. Details are on the Cookies page.
Embedded Google Maps. Every page includes a Google Maps iframe centred on the Sengkang / Rivervale neighbourhood at approximate zoom. Google may process technical data when the map loads. On this site, maps are treated as essential functional content and remain embedded regardless of optional consent categories — disclosed clearly on the Cookies page. I do not receive a copy of Google's processing; I choose embed mode without an API key specifically to limit scope.
What I do not collect on purpose
- No account registration — there is nothing to log into.
- No newsletter signup form on this build.
- No analytics package is active at launch. If that changes, I will update this notice and the cookie banner before enabling it.
- No sale of personal data. I do not monetise visitor lists because none are assembled.
- No precise geolocation tracking from your device. The maps show a fixed neighbourhood view, not your live position.
Legal bases (plain language)
Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act expects purpose limitation, consent where appropriate, and reasonable protection. For this personal blog:
- Consent: optional categories (such as analytics if ever enabled) rely on the cookie banner choices you make.
- Legitimate purpose: server logs and security monitoring keep the site available; maps help orient readers to the neighbourhood context of the writing.
- Contractual necessity: not applicable — there is no paid service here.
How long I keep data
Email correspondence: until the thread is resolved, then archived in my personal mailbox according to my own housekeeping — typically retained while still relevant for corrections or follow-up, deleted when no longer needed. Consent records: up to six months in cookie/localStorage unless you change preferences sooner. Server logs: per hosting defaults, usually rolling deletion within weeks unless required for an abuse investigation.
Sharing with others
I do not sell or rent personal data. Limited sharing may occur with:
- Hosting provider — stores site files and access logs.
- Google Maps — receives requests when you load a page with an embedded map.
- Email infrastructure — delivers messages you send to [email protected].
I do not instruct these providers to combine your visit here with profiles elsewhere. I also do not integrate social login, comment platforms, or third-party advertising tags on this build.
International transfers
Email and hosting infrastructure may route data outside Singapore depending on provider configuration. When that happens, it is incidental to standard internet routing, not because I operate an international data programme. I select providers with reputable security practices and contractual protections where available to a personal site operator.
Security measures
Reasonable steps for a static personal site: HTTPS when deployed, minimal attack surface (no forms, no database, no admin panel exposed), patched hosting environment, strong credentials on my email account. No system is perfect; if I learn of a breach affecting data you sent me, I will contact affected individuals where feasible and describe remedial steps.
Your rights
Under PDPA you may request access to personal data I hold about you, correction of inaccuracies, and withdrawal of consent for optional processing. Because I hold little beyond emails you sent and consent strings on your own device, many requests are simple: ask, and I will confirm what exists. Withdraw cookie consent anytime via Manage cookies or by clearing site data in your browser.
Children
This blog is written for general readers and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect data from anyone under thirteen. If a parent believes a child emailed me in error, contact me and I will delete the message.
Links to other sites
My pages may link to external resources for reader convenience. Those sites have their own policies. Leaving Quiet Nest means their rules apply, not mine.
Changes to this notice
When I update this page, I change the "last updated" date above. Material changes will also be summarised on the Cookies page if they affect consent categories. Continued browsing after an update constitutes awareness, not automatic consent to new optional processing — optional categories still require an affirmative banner choice.
Complaints
If you believe I have handled your personal data improperly, email me first so we can resolve the matter directly. If we cannot, you may contact the Personal Data Protection Commission in Singapore for guidance. I would rather fix a mistake quietly than defend a careless habit.
Data protection officer
There is no separate DPO — this is a one-person blog. I am the contact for all privacy matters listed above. Responses may take a few days during busy weeks; urgent security reports please put "Security" in the subject line.
Automated decision-making
I do not use automated profiling or automated decisions about visitors. There is no scoring, no recommendation engine, and no content paywall tied to your behaviour.
Retention of public page content
Blog posts are published for reading, not for harvesting visitor reactions. I do not operate comment sections on this build, which means there is no public user-generated content to moderate or delete on request. If I add comments in a future version — unlikely — this notice will explain how they are stored before the feature goes live.
Your responsibilities as a correspondent
When you email me, please do not include sensitive identifiers about other people without their permission. I cannot unsee what arrives in my inbox. If you need to describe a correction involving a third party, use initials or roles rather than full names. I will apply the same restraint when quoting your message back to you.
